SV Hotel Brings Moxy Hotels to Ulm

After expanding its portfolio by nine hotels last year, the Swiss hotel management company SV Hotel is now continuing its growth trajectory by bringing a Moxy Hotel—a brand of Marriott International—to Ulm. The new 146-room property is being built at Bahnhofplatz 2 in the heart of the Ulmer Posthöfe development, in the immediate vicinity of Ulm’s main train station. The opening is scheduled for late 2028. The contract partner is Ulmer Posthöfe GmbH, which is backed by Merckle Service GmbH.

The Moxy Ulm will be part of a large-scale project to revitalize and redevelop the former Telekom site. This neighborhood, which defines the cityscape and covers a total area of approximately 45,000 square meters, will feature a mix of retail, dining, offices, and a modern hotel. Concepts such as modern architecture, sustainability, and greater revitalization of the site through diverse user groups play a central role in this endeavor.

A particular architectural highlight will be the public hotel area on the fifth floor. This will be housed in a comprehensively designed glass structure offering an impressive view of Ulm’s Old Town and the world-famous Ulm Minster. The lively and open communal areas, which are hallmarks of the Moxy Hotels brand, will thus play a central role in the neighborhood’s development and attract both hotel guests and external visitors.

“With Merckle Service GmbH, we are partnering with an owner that, like us, has a long-term orientation. The Moxy concept is a perfect fit for the location, the market, and the Ulm Posthöfe complex. We already operate 13 properties under this brand and look forward to further expanding our partnership with Marriott in Ulm,” explains Marco Meier, Managing Director of SV Hotel.

Moxy Hotels caters to both business and leisure travelers and is positioned in the upper-midscale segment, which appeals to a broad spectrum of guests. The brand is known for its bold design, dynamic service, and a playful hospitality experience. Markus Binkert, CEO of the SV Group, summarizes the strategic significance of this new opening: “The Moxy Hotel in Ulm is another important milestone on our path to hotel growth. Our approach remains focused on attractive, central locations and strong partnerships. We are pleased to expand SV’s footprint in Germany with this addition in Ulm.”

With the new Moxy, Ulm will see its first hotel from the Marriott International brand portfolio, further enhancing Ulm’s appeal as a destination for national and international guests. The hotel is scheduled to open at the end of 2028.
