Sustainability at SV Switzerland

30 percent of global greenhouse gas emissions are caused by the production, logistics, preparation and disposal of food. In addition, around 30 percent of the food produced in Switzerland ends up as waste. As one of the leading food service companies in Switzerland, we want to do our part to break these trends. That is why we have been working since 2013 to continuously improve our environmental footprint along our entire value chain - from food production, purchasing and preparation to disposal. Our goal: We bring sustainability directly to our guests' plates!

To achieve our goal, we have committed ourselves to the comprehensive approach of the “Planetary Health Diet”. This is a scientific approach that aims to harmonize the environment and health. Our strategy is based on five areas of action.

Healthy and climate-friendly nutrition

The greatest leverage for a diet that is healthy for people and the planet therefore lies for us as a catering company in the focus of our offering.

Ethical, ecological and social food production

The greatest impact within our value chain can be achieved if the sustainable production of food can be ensured: Cultivation must be as ecological as possible and social and ethical aspects must be taken into account.

Efficient use of waste and energy

The responsible use of available resources is also a central aspect of our sustainability strategy within our operations.

Partnership and communication

We rely on good partnerships and open communication of our key sustainability figures. For example, we work with various partners such as WWF Switzerland and Swiss Animal Protection STS.

Responsible employer

As a responsible employer, we are committed to providing an attractive and healthy working environment for our employees. This includes continuously improving our working conditions and creating a corporate culture in which everyone can feel welcome. We also create many apprenticeships for young talent every year and offer our current employees numerous opportunities for internal development.

Unser sozialer Gründungszweck sowie die 110jährige Tradition prägen unsere DNA: Die SV Stiftung gewährleistet als Trägerstiftung und Mehrheitsaktionärin der SV Group die Verankerung unserer sozialen Verantwortung und unterstützt als Vergabestiftung Projekte, mit denen die Bevölkerung für die Themen nachhaltige und gesunde Ernährung sensibilisiert werden. Darüber hinaus möchten wir uns als Corporate Citizen durch strategische Partnerschaften wie mit dem WWF Schweiz dafür stark machen, dass diese Themen in der Gesellschaft verstärkt etabliert werden.
