For more animal welfare and biodiversity: SV Switzerland increases share of IP-SUISSE products

At SV Switzerland, sustainability and responsible cuisine take center stage. That is why we are increasingly focusing on products with the IP-SUISSE label - for environmentally friendly agriculture and greater animal welfare. Our guests benefit from high-quality food that is produced according to strict criteria and at the same time protects nature.

More sustainability on the menu

Our commitment to IP-SUISSE began in 2014 with the switch to meadow milk, followed by all orange carrots in 2016. In the last two years, we have further adapted our range: in 2023 and 2024, we switched the majority of our beef and pork to IP-SUISSE. A step that not only benefits the animals, but also the environment.

What does IP-SUISSE mean for animal welfare?

Animals on IP-SUISSE farms have more space, littered lying areas and regular access to open land. Farmers who work according to these guidelines are inspected annually and compliance with the standards is ensured by the independent body ProCert.

Protecting biodiversity

IP-SUISSE farmers actively contribute to biodiversity. They plant hedges, wildflower areas and beneficial insect strips - habitats for numerous animal species. At the same time, they reduce the use of synthetic chemical pesticides. Every farmer undertakes to implement biodiversity measures, which are regularly monitored.

Climate protection and resource conservation

Sustainable agriculture also means climate protection. IP-SUISSE producers rely on the efficient use of fertilizers, renewable energies such as photovoltaics and innovative methods to reduce greenhouse gases.

The fact that one of Switzerland's largest food service providers now also relies on IP-SUISSE for its meat, in addition to meadow milk and vegetables, confirms the added value of our farming families and motivates us to continue developing sustainable Swiss agriculture.
